Teller County is the 22nd most populous of the 64 counties of the state of Colorado. The county population was 20,555 at US Census 2000. The county seat is Cripple Creek, and the most populous city is Woodland Park.

With it snowy winters and mild summers, Teller county is located at an elevation ranging between 8,000 - 9,500 feet above sea level. It wraps around the north and west slopes of Pikes Peak, with Woodland Park 18 miles from Colorado Springs.

Whereas Douglas County extends all the way to Denver, the southern end of the county is indiscernible from Teller County. Only 16 miles north of Woodland Park, the popular community of Westcreek, CO deserves special mention with Teller County.
