El Vado Lake lies in the mountains of northern New Mexico. These subdivisions border El Vado Lake State Park near Tierra Amarilla, NM and Chama, NM. Several activities include fishing, boating, camping, water skiing, sailing, hiking, winter sports, camping, and picnicking. The beautiful lake covers a surface area of 3,200 acres. Back in 2008 several of these properties became available to the public for the first time in over forty years. In 2009 any remaining lots were sold to the neighboring Apache Tribe and will never again be available to the public. The lots available to the public are few and rare and consequently in very high demand.
