Directions from I-40:

1. Take I-40 to Grants
2. Take exit 81B to Hwy 53 (Ice Caves Rd)
3. Turn South (left), just after 60 mile marker, on CR-42 (Back Country Byway). - 25.4 mi
4. Follow this road south/southwest to fork in road - 4.4 mi
5. Bear right and continue on CR-42 to fork (left fork is Lava Tubes Rd, signs are present)- 3.0 mi
6. At Lava Tubes Rd intersection continue west (right) on Cerro Americano Rd (signs present). This road wraps around base of extinct volcano - 1.3 mi
7. At branch in road bear left and continue west to cattle guard (name changes to Cerro Leonides Rd) - 1.4 mi
NOTE: at the cattle guard, you have entered Tierra Verde
8. Cross cattle guard, proceed to branch in road (name changes to Cerro Leonides Rd)
9. Keep left (keep west) to stay on Cerro Leonides Rd. There is intersection with due north running road, Camino de Agua Vida. - 1.0 mi
NOTE: This intersection is not easy to find. Another road exists on the right and the turns can make this confusing, If you do not come to an intersection with name signs soon after choosing a road, go back and try the other road. Hint: At the first confusing road veer left.
10. Turn right on Camino de Agua Vida - 0.8 mi)
11. You will see a faint road on the right. Power lines should be visible crossing this road in the distance.
NOTE: If you come to the road along a fence, you went 1 road too far
12. Turn right onto this road. At power line, first orange stake should be visible on right. Power line is along west boundary.
Note: County maintained road ends at Lava Tubes Rd. Dirt road is passable with truck or 4 wheel drive (some road clearance desirable). Other aids such as a GPS unit, plat, area or B.L.M maps may be helpful to find this property.
